Downtown Mount Airy is glowing with the spirit of the season — and our local businesses are bringing the magic to life with Window Wonderland!

Each year, Mount Airy Downtown invites merchants to transform their storefronts into festive works of art, turning the district into a holiday destination filled with cheer, creativity, and community pride. This year’s theme, “Home for the Holidays,” celebrates the warmth, nostalgia, and togetherness that make this season so special.

Holiday Cheer Awards

A special panel of judges will select winners in three categories:

• Best Use of Merchandise – for displays that beautifully highlight store products in a festive way

• Best Interpretation of Theme – for windows that best capture the feeling of Home for the Holidays

• Best Do-It-Yourself Design – for creative, handmade, or upcycled displays full of personality and heart

Holiday Cheer Winners will be announced during the City Hall Christmas Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 4.

People’s Choice Award

Visitors can also join the fun by voting for their favorite downtown window display! Public voting will be open Saturday, November 22 (Christmas Parade Day) and through Saturday, December 20.

People’s Choice Winners will be revealed on Monday, December 22.
