We’re putting together A Really Good Tuesday in Downtown Mount Airy — and we’d love for you to be part of it!
As part of an NC Main Street project, a professional film crew is coming to Downtown Mount Airy on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 to create a short cinematic commercial and professional still photography showcasing our community.
The goal? To capture the people, places, businesses, food, music, creativity, and everyday energy that make our downtown unique.

We’re inviting friends, residents, visitors, and downtown regulars to help us bring the day to life. Throughout the day, filming will take place in various spaces around downtown, with opportunities for people to participate in scenes.

Our whole downtown is part of the picture! On filming day, we encourage downtown businesses to:

Remove unnecessary clutter from visible areas

Keep storefronts looking bright, active, and welcoming

Invite customers, friends, and staff to spend time downtown
A good scene needs people in it — so the more activity downtown, the better.
About the Project
The filming is part of a statewide NC Main Street initiative highlighting communities participating in the North Carolina Main Street Program.
Downtown Mount Airy’s film will help tell the story of our community — from the heritage people already know to the businesses, experiences, and momentum shaping downtown today.
The finished commercial and professional photography will become assets that can help promote Downtown Mount Airy locally and across NC Main Street platforms.
